Bottle label design starts with the bottle
Every bottle label design starts with a tape measure. For a label that goes around, run the tape round the bottle where the label sits, on the straight part below the shoulder and above the base, and take off 1/8 in for a small gap between the ends; the height is that straight part less a little at the top and the bottom. Our free label maker has a wrap calculator that works this out from the diameter or the distance around.
Each bottle label design here opens at a size most bottles take. The water bottle wrap is 8 × 2 in for 8, 12 and 16.9 oz water bottles. The dropper bottle label is 3 × 1.5 in for 1/2 and 1 oz dropper bottles, the kind used for serums, essential oils and beard oils, like this vitamin C serum in Botanical Line. The hot sauce bottle label is 4 × 2 in with rounded corners for 5 oz woozy bottles. The juice bottle front stands upright at 3 × 4 in on 12 to 16 oz round juice bottles, and the bottle front label is 3 × 2 in for 4 to 8 oz round bottles of vanilla extract, syrup, oil, dressing or a cosmetic.
There is no bottle label template to hunt for: each type is already one, sized to its bottle, with the bleed, the safe area and the front marked. Your bottle is another size? Set the width and the height in the type menu and all of them move with it. Auto in the same menu leaves the shape to you and your description, for anything from a tall neck label to a square tag.
