Measure the present and add a little room: every size on this page is an inside size. For jewelry, a ring or a pair of earrings sits in the 3 × 3 × 1.25 in drawer box, while a bracelet has more room in the 3.5 × 3.5 × 1.25 in box with a lid. A bar of handmade soap takes the 3.75 × 2.75 × 1.4 in drawer box, with room for a paper band around it.

Sweets go in the 6 × 6 × 2 in cookie box, deep enough for two layers of cookies with a sheet of parchment between them, and a perfume or an essential oil bottle in the 2.2 × 1.5 × 4.6 in tuck box. If your gift is a different size, type its measurements on the page and the gift box template follows. Score every dashed line with a bone folder or an empty ballpoint pen against a ruler, then fold the lines away from the printed side. For a box with lid, fold up the walls of the base and the lid, glue the corner flaps inside the end walls and let both dry before the lid goes on.

A drawer box is a tray and a sleeve: glue the sleeve into a tube and let it dry, fold the tray walls up, glue their corner flaps and slide the tray in. The perfume box is a reverse tuck end box: glue the side seam into a tube, fold in the bottom dust flaps and tuck, then slide the bottle in and close the top the same way.

Use 65 lb cover card stock, about 176 gsm and 8.5 pt thick. Every gift box template here is drawn for it, it feeds through most home printers and it folds cleanly by hand. For a stiffer box, choose 80 or 110 lb card stock in the board settings and every panel grows with its thickness, so the gift still fits.

Set the printer to 100%, Actual size or No scaling, never Fit to page, and print both pages of a box before you cut.
