Free Box Mockup in 3D

A flat print file shows every panel side by side. On the folded box the front meets the sides at a fold, the top tuck closes over the front edge and the glue flap disappears inside, so a band of color can break at a corner or a logo can land on a flap.

A 3D box mockup answers what the flat file leaves open: whether each panel carries the right part of the design, whether the colors run cleanly round the corners, and how the box reads from the three quarter view a shopper sees first.

A reverse tuck end box closes at the top front and the bottom back, the usual carton for cosmetics and small goods; a straight tuck end box closes both ends at the back, so the front stays clean top to bottom. A box with lid is a base and a lid that fits over it, and a drawer box is a tray that slides into a sleeve.

The pizza box and the mailer box are corrugated: a pizza box has a lid that tucks in at the front, and a mailer box has rolled end walls and a tuck lid. The box mockup generator folds each from the dieline the dieline generator makes at the same size, so what you see here is what that dieline folds into.

A print file for a box covers the flat sheet and its bleed, 1/8 in all round unless the dieline sets its own. Laid on the free box mockup, each panel takes the part of the file inside its own cut and fold lines, so the design reads on the box exactly as it will once it is printed and folded.

Designs from AI box design come in the frame they were made in, a little wider than the dieline, and they land just as well: the page recognises their shape, with no stretching. A file of another shape is stretched to the sheet, and the panel tells you how far off it is.

The template button downloads the flat box at the size on screen as a PNG at up to 300 dpi: the bleed tinted, the cut lines solid, the folds dashed and each panel named. Design on it, keep the bleed covered, and the file goes straight back onto the box here.

White board suits bright, clean designs. On kraft board the print sits on the brown, as it does at the printer: the board shows wherever your file is white, and its fibres show through the ink, which suits natural and handmade brands. Pizza and mailer boxes come in white top or kraft corrugated, the way they are made. Matte keeps the light soft, and gloss adds the sheen of a laminated box.

Without a print file, the 3D box mockup shows the board itself, a clean blank box for a pitch or a dieline proof.

The soft studio keeps colors true, bright suits white boxes, warm flatters kraft and dark makes a gloss box shine. A lens of 70 mm and up keeps the box straight like a catalog shot, and a low view makes it look bold on a shelf.

The stage takes the shape of the picture: square for a shop’s main image, 4:5 for a feed, 16:9 for a slide and 9:16 for a story. PNG and WebP keep a transparent background with the contact shadow, JPG takes the background color you pick, and the turntable video records one full turn at 1080 px.
