Free Paper Bag Mockup in 3D

A flat front shows the design square on. On the bag the front meets the gussets at a fold, the top is turned in under the handles and the base folds flat underneath, so a border can run into a fold or a line of words can sit behind a handle.

A 3D paper bag mockup answers what the flat front leaves open: how the design sits between the handles, how the gussets frame it, and how the bag reads from the three quarter view a shopper sees across the counter.

The ready sizes are the paper bag template’s four small gift bags, a small gift bag, a jewelry bag, a candy favor bag and a book and card bag, and three common shopping bags, 8 × 4.75 × 10 in, 10 × 5 × 13 in and the wide 16 × 6 × 12 in. Any other width, gusset and height from 5 to 600 mm works the same way.

Sizes are inside sizes, as the paper bag template measures them: the face, the side and the height from the base to the top edge. The free shopping bag mockup and a tiny favor bag come from the same engine, so a bag of any size looks right.

Most designs start as a front. A front whose shape is within 5% of the bag’s face is printed edge to edge; any other shape sits whole inside the face with a 5 mm margin, so nothing is stretched. The same front goes on the back unless you turn that off.

A print file of the whole flat bag covers it and its bleed, and each panel takes the part inside its own cut and fold lines: the front, the gussets, the back and the base all read as they will once the bag is printed and glued. The page recognises a print file by its shape, and the panel says which way the picture went on.

The template button downloads the flat bag at the size on screen as a PNG at up to 300 dpi: everything past the cut tinted, the cut lines solid, the folds dashed and each panel named. Design on it and the file goes straight back onto the bag here.

White paper suits bright designs. On kraft the print sits on the brown, as it does at the printer, so the paper shows wherever your file is white and its fibres show through the ink. On black paper the print covers, as foil or a white ink does. Matte keeps the light soft, and gloss adds the sheen of a laminated bag.

The twisted paper handle and the flat paper handle are glued inside the top under a paper patch, as on store bags; the cotton rope suits boutique bags; the ribbon runs out of two holes in each face and is knotted inside. The paper handles come in the paper’s own color and the rope and ribbon in one that suits it, or pick black, white, kraft, red, navy, gold or natural.

The soft studio keeps colors true, bright suits white bags, warm flatters kraft and dark makes a black gloss bag shine. A lens of 70 mm and up keeps the bag straight like a catalog shot, and a low view makes it stand tall.

The stage takes the shape of the picture: square for a shop’s main image, 4:5 for a feed, 16:9 for a slide and 9:16 for a story. PNG and WebP keep a transparent background with the contact shadow, JPG takes the background color you pick, the turntable video records one full turn at 1080 px, and the fold reveal lays the flat bag inside up and folds it in 7 seconds, ending on your view.
